10,000 Years of Irish History

April 30 @ 7:30 pm

Hybrid. Free. Journey through ten millennia of a landscape shaped by ice, ritual, and resilience. This seminar traces the extraordinary arc of Irish history, beginning with the Mesolithic hunter-gatherers who first stepped onto a wild, wooded island and following the trail through the Neolithic master-builders of Brú na Bóinne. We will explore the arrival of the Celts and the melding of their “thin place” spirituality with the Golden Age of Early Christian Monasticism, before navigating the transformative shocks of Viking raids, Norman conquests, and the struggle for modern independence. Join us to discover how 10,000 years of survival and creativity have forged the unique identity of Ireland today—a story of a people deeply rooted in their past while looking steadfastly toward the future. Hosted by Tim Madigan.
