Back indoors at Merlins after three years away!
We’re meeting on Sunday afternoons because (a) it will be easier to hear one another on an otherwise quiet part of the weekâthis was already getting to be a problem as we neared the shutdowns of 2020, and (b) we are going to keep the Wabun sings going on Monday nights, which tends to be a quieter time at the picnic area in summer. But we are so glad to finally be back!
The basic rules apply the same as ever: we take a turn leading a song (don’t worry, no one will make you). It should be a song with a repeaty bit people can join in on, whether a chorus or a refrain or whatever. We do not sing from songbooks, and we do not allow instruments unless you are Dr Bob. That’s it. All genres are welcome though some work better than others with those restrictions: shanties, drinking songs, gospel, and a decent amount of modern folk-revival stuff are kind of our core.
Masking is optional, but PLEASE if you feel unwell, stay home and keep any airborne-transmissible diseases to yourself….we’ll see you next time!
