Book Discussion: On Bloody Sunday

April 7, 2025 @ 6:30 pm

Join Us for a Two-Night Book Discussion: On Bloody Sunday: A New History Of The Day And Its Aftermath By Those Who Were There

Author Julieann Campbell provides a powerful and gut-wrenching account of Bloody Sunday, one of the darkest days in Irish history. Drawing from oral testimonies of over 100 people who were there, On Bloody Sunday: A New History Of The Day And Its Aftermath By Those Who Were There (2023) brings the sights, sounds, and emotions of January 30, 1972, to life. On that day in Derry/Londonderry, 13 people were killed and 18 more injured—an event that became a turning point in the Northern Ireland Civil Rights movement. The author’s own 17-year-old uncle, Jackie Duddy, was among the first to die.

Join facilitator Steve Griffith for a two-night discussion via Zoom, exploring this important work and the lasting impact of Bloody Sunday.

📖 Participants are expected to read the book in advance.
