Green Fire – the Show
A show displaying the variety of styles and stories Irish Dance has! From traditional to modern, hard shoe to soft shoe, we will dance it all!
The new show includes traditional dance styles from Donegal to Connemara to North Kerry as we dance over brooms, across sticks and around chairs. It also features our own creations in modern Irish step dancing, including new numbers such as “Insomnia” and “A Fair Fight.” Plus, a sampling of historic Irish dances from the last 300 years in period costumes, including jigs written by an early nineteenth century dancing master and a Victorian ballroom scene.
Elaine Murray and Ed Koene have been performing Irish dance for decades. Out of their shared passion grew a vision: a place where adults, teens, and children could dance and perform together, sharing in the joy of Irish tradition. That dream became Green Fire Irish Dancers.
“Through every step and every tune, Elaine and Ed have reminded us that dance is more than movement—it’s community, connection, and joy.” Irish Arts Minnesota, November 2025
“You’ve kept the traditional steps not just alive, but vibrant, adding yere own twist Twin Cities Style.” From County Kerry’s Kathleen Griffen, TCRG and All Ireland Dance Champion
“The City of Saint Paul joins Irish Arts Minnesota and the broader community in recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions of Elaine Murray, Ed Koehne, and the Green Fire Irish Dancers to the cultural heritage of our city.” Melvin Carter, Mayor of City of St. Paul, on the proclamation of Green Fire Irish Dancers Day on November 21, 2025.
Admission: $10 for adults, payable at the door. Youth 18 and under receive free admission.
