À L’OUEST ET AU SUD: DANCES FROM VENDÉE AND GASCONY. For this second session of our folk soirée, we’ll get together to enjoy groovy rondeaux from Gascony and lively maraîchines from the Vendée. With roots in the traditional dances of France’s diverse regions, bal folk includes easy dances from all over the country – and a few imports as well! In this series of three monthly events, each night will begin with a workshop focused on a particular region followed by a bal with live music. Bob Walser will lead the dances and join Dan Newton, Renee Vaughn, The BreTones and others in providing the music. (Laura joins the BreTones on flute, boxwood whistle and cornemuse).
