Laura MacKenzie at the Artist Sanctuary

The Artist Sanctuary is excited to announce that our Third Friday concert on August 18 will feature Laura MacKenzie – Traditional Wind-Powered Music!
Concert begins at 7pm, doors open at 6:30, suggested donation of $10/person.

Laura MacKenzie performs music from Scotland, Ireland, England, Nova Scotia, France, Galicia and Minnesota on an array of wind-powered instruments including wooden flutes, whistles, concertina, a variety of bagpipes both bellowed and blown, and voice. Laura has learned from many noted tradition bearers on both sides of the Atlantic and has herself been recognized as a master folk artist.
Enjoying a richly varied career grounded in traditional music, Laura has
collaborated, performed, and recorded with diverse ensembles, worked with
theatrical productions and for public radio, can be heard on a multitude of
recordings and documentaries, and has performed at festivals across the United States.
