Come and join us for our Third Monday pub sing at Merlins Rest, the finest pub west of the Mississippi! We sing all manner of old and new songs there (not just sea shanties) as long as they have a chorus — and given that some of us are history buffs as well as singers, you’ll likely hear some land- and sea-based songs about the events of long ago that Barbara Tuchman wrote about in “The Guns of August.”
So bring a song to sing and/or a voice to sing along with, and get yourself some excellent pub grub and drink. No instruments, no songbooks — and though we don’t discourage the use of cheat sheets, you’ll find that if you take the time to memorize a song, you’ll connect with it and the people you sing it with in a much deeper way. See you then!
