Elizabeth and Julia by Dublin resident Ann Matthews chronicles two women important in Irish history who have largely been forgotten. It is surprising to learn of their participation in the
Rebellion of 1916 and their thoughts regarding social class within the new Irish Free State.

Ann Matthews is best known for her play Madame de Markievicz on Trial which was performed in the Irish Cultural Center in Paris on the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rebellion in Dublin. We are thrilled that Ann will join us for the staged reading of her new play, Elizabeth and Julia.
