St. Patrick’s Day Irish Celebration
Each year, Irish Arts Minnesota hosts the annual St. Patrick’s Day Irish Celebration in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. For over 40 years, we’ve invited the community to see local musicians, dance performance groups, art exhibitions, and storytellers. In 2017 alone, over 7,000 people from the Twin Cities joined us at the Landmark Center to celebrate Irish-American culture. Proceeds from our events help sustain our programs, like educational grants, that support Irish artists all year round.
The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is produced by Irish Arts Minnesota and is presented in partnership with the Minnesota Landmarks.
We celebrate with all things Irish, with activities for the whole family!
- Local and regional music on four different stages

- Traditional food, American-style sandwiches, with Irish and local beer

Day of Irish Dance – Part of the “Sundays at Landmark” Program
The Day of Irish Dance is a celebration of the vibrant community of Irish dancers across Minnesota. We bring together performance and competition teams for a day of performance-focused solely on the art form of Irish dance. The Day of Irish Dance is also when we present some of our most dedicated dancers with the Decade of Dance Award – a special honor given only to those who have been actively studying and performing for ten or more years.
The Day of Irish Dance is held in March every year at the historic Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul. It is usually hosted on a Sunday, surrounding our St. Patrick’s Day event. Proceeds from our events help sustain our programs, like educational grants, that support Irish artists all year round.
IAM Honors Event
The IAM wouldn’t be possible without the people in our community who have dedicated their lives to playing, dancing, teaching, sharing, and promoting the traditional arts of Ireland. That’s why we host the IAM Honors Event – to celebrate one outstanding person each year who has made significant contributions to the local Irish arts community. During the event, we invite people from the community to share their talents and stories with the honoree and attendees.
Past honorees have included Sheila Jordan, Jenny Bach & Mary McNeive (2019), Bill Conlan (2018), John McCormack (2016), Tom Dahill (2013), Ann Heymann (2009), Martin McHugh (2006), and many more. Proceeds from our events help sustain our programs, like educational grants, that support Irish artists all year round.
